Ben and Kate ...plus great

Forgive the bad pun. Or don't. Either way, the time has come for me to blog about this show.

Words cannot describe how great I think it is. I discovered it on a busy, midterm-panicked weekend at home, when the TV was on for some reason while I was studying. FX was showing a marathon of Ben and Kate, and I had never seen nor heard about it before. It immediately caught my attention by how cozy it looked. Then, to my surprise, it was really funny.

It doesn't even really matter what it's about; JUST WATCH IT. It's 1000x funnier than everything else that's on TV (I'm not one to think the New Girl is that funny, or the Mindy Project) and 1000x cozier. However, I think it is going to be canceled because of ratings (which I would argue are irrelevant in the "digital age", where no one watches TV shows on a TV anymore, at their designated slot time. We watch shows online. So account for THAT MOTHAF**CKASS jk but really they should count that as ratings. Unless they already do and I just don't know about it.)

So please, try to "tune in" on Tuesdays at 8:30 PM, FOX network so we can save the show! (if you're as obsessed with it as I am).
(the marathon was on FX, but the show is on FOX)

I'm sick of mediocre shows being picked up again and again, while "gems" get left in the dust.

P.S. In regards to my previous post about being fed up with fucked up news:
I sent Google a business proposal today (which is the only way to suggest things to them), proposing that they add a category in Google News called "Good News". I think it will affect the way the new generation perceives the world while reassuring older generations that not everything has completely gone to hell. That doesn't sound very convincing because I'm tired, but I believe that something like this will truly impact the quality of life. (I'm not suggesting that we ignore "bad news", I'm just suggesting that it will reduce the imbalance between "good and evil").

Anyways, GOODNIGHT!

Honestly

I'm really tired of fucking up things happening

Such as: Someone being pushed onto a subway track and a bystander TAKING A PICTURE of him, right before the train hits him.

I don't even know what to say. I could be all preachy and be like "What has the world come to?" or "It makes me sick." but honestly nothing amounts to how it makes me feel.

It's a mixture of depression and fear.

and worry.

HITCHCOCK: THE MOVIE ?!?!

WHAT. THE. HECK.

Well this is weird. A movie about Hitchcock making Psycho.
And it RANDOMLY has Scarlett Johansson and Jessica Biel in it.
It looks like a satire. AND ANTHONY HOPKINS DOES NOT LOOK LIKE ANTHONY HOPKINS AT ALL. Also the guy who plays Anthony Perkins (otherwise known as Mr. Bates of the Bates Motel) does the funniest impression of him ever and it's actually good.
It looks semi good/cozy/funny though so I'll probably go see it

Does anyone else find Ti West arrogant?

I just watched "The Innkeepers", and it was really slow (which Ti West either denies or accepts, only if it is meant as a compliment). One of my friends even fell asleep while we were watching it. Maybe because it didn't really "deliver".

I really liked his previous film, "House of the Devil", because even though it was slow, there was a payoff. But with this film, no payoff. It was bad.

So I came across his interviews about both films, and he seemed really arrogant/ego style.

I feel like he was making excuses for himself when things don't go right, or he overly defends his work, which is ridiculous because you have to accept the audiences' opinion, I mean, that's who the film is for.
Anyways, I'm not a fan of his anymore now. I don't know why his ego is so big. I hate when directors are like that. or ANYONE for that matter.

My Bloody Snake Dream

Last night I dreamed that I won a horror/Halloween style lottery (like those scratch-off cards under the counter at liquor stores). The card was decorated with drawn-on dripping blood and other random stuff I can't remember. So I was at 7/11 scratching off the numbers to reveal the real numbers (I was ULT confused as to why they put fake numbers over the real numbers, instead of just using pictures. Because it's so confusing. Unless there were pictures and I can't remember them). So I'm scratching them off and my mom tells me I won, like $1000. So I got excited and gave it to the cashier guy and then all of a sudden I notice that there's a snake aquarium where the rotisserie hot dogs usually are,. And the cashier guys were laughing and bringing out one for my prize.
And I was looking at the snakes and thinking, "I'm not afraid of snakes (because in real life I'm not), but now I am. Thanks." Because they all looked randomly scary.
So they bring out a bloody snake (still alive I think) for me, instead of the money, and I'm like, "Okay..."
So I semi went behind the counter to get it but then it was gone and there were two random guys opening a broiler/panini maker, with a half cooked newt and lizard (?) inside, and they were trying to pass them off as m new prize and I was like "WTF ARE YOU COOKING THEM ALIVE?!?" and they laughed and I got mad and sad and then I woke up.

Anyways, I found a video of what snake venom does to human blood.

Russiaphobia

Scared of Russians?
Thank god, so am I.

Because YouTube "Russia" =
Russians driving crazy in the snow + scary/violent road rage + teenagers doing insane "activities" for fun, like jumping off of buildings with a rope tied to their leg (R-O-P-E, not bungee cord), diving under moving trains, and hanging off of skyscrapers.

Also, my best friend had a scary Moscow-based nightmare a couple months ago, and it freaked me out. That sounds dumb, but other people's dreams can be powerful.

After YouTubing "Russia" for 2 days straight and scaring myself stupid, I found a vlog called "Real Russia". Basically, two guys named Sergei decided to make a web series showing what it's really like to live Russia.

So I'm obsessed with the blog now/listening to their Russian accents and syntax.
And it's also helping me get over my fear

P.S. I asked them if everyone in Russia is crazy, and they said "We are not crazy, but just loves to laugh a lot!"

Blah Blah Blues

Why the fuck did I change the format of this blog??? I don't match a black background. Also, what happened to my cool picture-heading.

I'm re-instating everything back to how it was immediately.

ALSO, since I spend so much time online now, because of how much I procrastinate really important things, like passing a random Islamic Art class that I need to pass to graduate this quarter, I have come across many "interesting" things that I become obsessed with for a weekend and then completely forget about.

That paragraph made no sense. Let me re-phrase:

I'm going to blog about things I'm obsessed with, in addition to being obsessed with them.
It's only because the list of things I'm obsessed with is progressively getting longer with every weekend I come home, have internet, and also have a paper due (or in this case, 2 papers and a midterm).

Maybe this will be one of those cool semi-popular blogs that I actually follow through with.
I always have to blog about re-inventing my blog, before I don't blog again for a year.

The list of things I have to do tonight

Just ignore this post. It's mostly for myself. Even though this whole blog is. LOL

For my annoying Marxism class that I'm being forced to take at 8 in the morning:
Read
_ "On the Jewish Question"
_ Economic and Philosophic Manuscripts pp. 83-104, 118-21
_ On James Mill pp. 124-33
_ "On Strikes"/Grundrisse pp. 379-423
_ The German Ideology
_ Theses of Feurbach
_ Manifesto of the Communist Party
Write
_ Religion and Labor Alienation
_In the communist Manifesto, Marx asserts that history is the history of class struggles. How is the proletariat's relationship to history different from that of other classes, according to Marx?

I really want to watch The Sound of Music though. Dangit.

Re-vamping this blog

Hi. I haven't posted on here in forever. I guess it was just like an outlet to rant about random things and talk about mascara. But now... I'm going to use it to actually blog about my life (which is SO interesting and you care). Obviously, there are going to be serious "deep"/embarrassing posts in addition to the ones where I try to make painful situations funny. I find that most of the time when I'm serious and think I'm being profound/deep I just sound retarded and also cliche. So it's just embarrassing for me when I read them later and think "Oh my god that was such a deep moment... Why does it sound so dumb?" Sometimes they'll be ult funny though and you'll be glad I was really into what I say saying.
Anyways, I started this again because I'm so annoyed with everything that I had to make one aspect of my life cool. Plus writing a blog makes me feel like I'm in a TV show. I can go through random problems, and write about the lesson I learned at the end of each episode. I mean day.

So..."stay tuned!" LOL ...because I have some really crazy problems. And if you're not going to read my blog because you're not interested in my life, read it because it might make you feel better about yours LOOL
